Zambia Luxury Safari Fly-in to South Luangwa and to Lower Zambezi
Zambia Luxury Safari: South Luangwa Lodge
Our Zambia Luxury Safari starts in the airport of Lusaka. Upon arrival you will be boarding your flight to South Luangwa National Park.
After landing in Mfuwe airport, a friendly game ranger will pick you up and drive you about 40 km in an open safari vehicle to your bush lodge at the banks of the Luangwa River.
In the next three days you will enjoy two games drives daily in an open game viewing vehicles. Drinks and snacks are taken along for your enjoyment while in the park. Indigenous bush surrounds the chalets and wildlife may roam freely through the camp.
A typical day will look like this:
- 5.00 – awake just before sunrise and have light snack with tea & coffee
- 6.00 – head off into the park on a Toyota Land Cruiser for a 4 hour morning game drive.
- 10.00 – return to the lodge for a scrumptious “brunch”. Followed by afternoon
rest, swim or relax in the shade overlooking the river. At 15.30 Tea & Coffee.
- 16.00 – depart for the afternoon game drive and after a sundowner in the park
we go on a magical night drive.
- 20.00 – Returning to the lodge, get ready for the Evening Dinner.

Zambia Luxury Safari Lower Zambezi Camp Amanzi:
After the early morning game drive you will fly to Lusaka airport, change planes and fly to an airstrip near your camp in the Lower Zambezi National Park. Another friendly game ranger is waiting for you to drive you to the camp.
Indigenous bush surrounds the chalets and wildlife may roam freely through the camp.
Amanzi camp is situated directly on the banks of the Ngwenya channel. The name “Amanzi” means water in the Tonga language and draws inspirations from the site’s intimate position on the Zambezi allows.
The camp consists of 4 tents, each with two double beds on a raised teak deck. The tents have an indoor shower and bathroom, as well as a private sitting area and balcony overlooking the Zambezi.
The camp is intimate yet private with the tents generously spaced and connected with a raised walkway to the main area. The main area has an infinity pool a sun deck and a dining area.
Activities:
The camp is well equipped with the best game viewing vehicles and boats allowing us to ensure much comfort for our guests and cater for their individual needs. Guests will be guided by very knowledgeable and experienced guides.
Up to two activities per day are included in the rate and comprise the following:
- Game Drives – with a maximum of 4 guests per vehicle;
- Night drive;
- Walking Safaris into the Kulefu woodlands and surrounding areas;
- Canoeing Safaris along the banks of the Zambezi River;
- Boating and fishing on the Zambezi River;
- Bird Watching – approximately 500 species of birds in the Lower Zambezi National Park.
- Day trips down the Mapata Gorge.
After 3 exciting days in the wild you will be transferred to the airstrip and fly back to Lusaka.
Victoria Falls option:
Depending on your arrival in Lusaka we can extend the safari tour to Livingstone to see the famous “Smoke That Thunders”. One night in Livingstone is usually sufficient to leave a lasting memory of the Falls.
Accommodation
Thornicroft Lodge
Luxury Air Conditioned River Front Chalets for 2 person occupation.
One extra bed is possible in chalets.
2 single beds or 1 double bed, walk in mosquito net, en suite bathroom with cold/hot water, hand basin, shower, flush toilet, 230 volt wall sockets (UK and Euro), wardrobe, desk, large storage chest, veranda with view over the river. (full board)
The thatched main building consisting of dining area, bar, reception, lounge and
toilets. A swimming pool, depth 1 – 2 meter, chlorinated water, pool towels supplied.
Meals: full board (light breakfast at 5.30, mid-morning snack on drive, Brunch at 11.30, tea at 15.30, dinner at 20.30)
Coffee and Tea available throughout the day (incl.).
Two 4 hour Game drives per with snack, coffee or tea per day.
The lodge has international phone facilities. Cell phone coverage is available from the lodge most of the time.
For internet connection the lodge offers USB dongles.
Amanzi Camp:
Accommodation consists of 4 traditional safari tents, approximately 500 sq ft in size, positioned on a raised wooden deck. The tents are generously spaced along the Zambezi River bank and the Mushika flood plain, allowing the game to wonder around the camp freely.
There is an exciting family unit which is essentially two of the tents back to back allowing for a two bedroom, two bathroom family tent perfect for groups with young children.
Each of the luxury tents boast:
indoor bathroom;
a spacious sitting area;
two teak double beds or placed within one well designed mosquito net;
a private deck;
a wood deck with a stunning view of the Ngwenya Channel;
24 hour battery power.
