Detailed Itinerary

Cape Town – Cape Peninsula Tour itinerary:

Cape Town – Cape Peninsula tour: Signal Hill and Twelve Apostle

Our Cape Town – Cape Peninsula Tour starts at your Cape Town hotel. Our first stop is Signal Hill, where we have a panoramic view of Cape Town, the 12 Apostle, Lions Head, Robben Island and Table Mountain.

Clifton Beach is made up of 4 coves and the beaches are called 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. When the summer South-Easter blows, the Clifton beaches are usually well sheltered from the wind. All of the beaches are accessible via stairs leading down from the road above. In the summer, plan to get to the beach early as parking is very limited. Generally, the 4th is the busiest in summer with good changing room and bathroom facilities. We visit the beach where one has the most spectacular view of the Twelve Apostle.

Hout Bay and Mariners’ WharfCape Town - Cape Peninsula_pity-boy-hout-bay-harbour

Originally a small fishing village, Hout Bay is now a favorite attraction with its traditional harbour and many restaurants and curio shops. The beach is flanked by the harbour on one end and the cliffs of Chapman’s Peak on the other. It’s also favorite among windsurfers, paddle-skiers and surfers and is ideal for walking.

Chapman’s Peak Drive
Chapman’s Peak Drive winds its way between Noordhoek and Hout Bay. Situated on the Atlantic Coast, at the south-western tip of South Africa, it is one of the most spectacular marine drives anywhere in the world. The 9 km route, with its 114
curves, skirts the rocky coastline of Chapman’s Peak, the 593m high southerly extension of Constantia Berg. The drive offers stunning 180° views with many amazing sights along the route.

Cape of Good Hope and Nature Reserve

At the tip of the Cape Peninsula 60 km south-west of Cape Town, lies Cape Point, a nature reserve within the Table Mountain National Park; a declared Natural World Heritage Site. Encompassing 7 750 hectares of rich and varied flora and fauna; abounding with Eland antelopes, baboons and Cape Mountain Zebra as well as over 250 species of birds, Cape Point is a nature enthusiast paradise. The park claims its the world’s biggest breeding ground for Sea Turtles.

Rugged rocks and sheer cliffs towering more than 200m Cape Town - Cape Peninsula full day private tourabove the sea level and cutting deep into the ocean, provide a spectacular background for the Parks’ rich bio-diversity. Cape Point falls within the southern section of Table Mountain National Park. The natural vegetation of the area, called Fynbos, comprises the smallest, but richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms.

Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach:
Boulders Penguin Colony is home to a struggling colony of the vulnerable African Penguin. Cape Pensinsula tour african penguins at boulders beach Wooden walkways allow visitors to view the penguins in their natural habitat and there is also a new information center. Children will love the penguins and their antics and Boulders Beach is also worth a stop for safe and enjoyable swimming.

Historic Simon’s Town and Kalk Bay Harbour:
The town officially called Simon’s Town, but often referred to as Simonstown, was originally named Simon’s Vlek after Simon van der Stel, the Dutch governor of the Cape Colony between 1677 and 1699, who surveyed the bay east of Cape Town in 1687 and earmarked it as a safe winter harbour during the months of May to September for which it was finally proclaimed in 1741.

We either finish our Cape Town – Cape Peninsula Private Day Tour with a visit of a scenic Constantia wine estate to enjoy a wine tasting, or we visit Kirstenbosch Garden on our way back to Cape Town.

We will pick you up at your Cape Town hotel and can drop you off at any location in the city, including the Table Mountain cable car station.

Park entries, wine tasting, lunch and Kirstenbosch Garden entry are not included.

    Wonderful Trip
Review of: Cape Town to Cape Point Private Day Tour
My wife and I enjoyed Reinhard’s company for 2 days in Cape Town. Day 1 was this tour (shown) and Day 2 was a spontaneous add-on to Inverdoorn, a wildlife refuge for a day safari trip. We could not have been happier with our host Reinhard, and would not hesitate to book with him again if we are back there someday. He is honest, worked hard to give us a great excursion, and was a real pleasure to be around. He has extensive knowledge of the area and took a genuine interest in us. Don’t hesitate, these are good people.
