Garden Route Tour Self Drive Safari 4 – 6 days:

Garden Route Tour Self Drive Day 1: Cape Town – Swellendam
Our Garden Route Self Drive Tour departs in Cape Town for Swellendam and follows the rugged scenic coastline through numerous villages to Hermanus, well known for offering the finest land-based whale watching in season from July through November. Your next stop is the most southern tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas, where the warm Indian and cold Atlantic oceans meet. You may visit the famous Cape Aghulas Lighthouse, swim in warm waters in Struisbaai, and lunch in a fish restaurant at the beach. With a little luck you will see the huge sting rays, coming right to the shore. After a relaxed lunch, continue on to Swellendam for an overnight stay(o/n Swellendam, accommodation, breakfast BB)

Day 2 & 3: Oudtshoorn – Knysna
Leaving Swellendam, you will drive inland to visit the world famous Cango Caves. After taking a tour of this amazing natural wonder, visit an ostrich farm where those brave enough can try to ride the largest bird in the world! We recommend the Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn.(o/n Knysna, BB)

Day 3: Knysna
Returning to the coast via some lovely country roads, you will arrive in the picturesque seaside village of Knysna. There are numerous adventure activities available here as well as some interesting local crafts. Enjoy optional activities such as canoeing, abseiling, hiking or a lagoon cruise. Visit a nature reserve, such as Featherbed or visit the beaches of Brenton on Sea. Spend the night in Knysna enjoying the bohemian’s town’s lively atmosphere (o/n Knysna, BB).

Day 4: Knysna – Tsisikamma
Today we will explore more of the Knysna region, like Monkey Land or a Snake Park.

Tour the Tsitsikamma Forest and see the famous Big Tree,  enjoy activities such as bungee jumping or Tsitsikamma Treetop Tours, which are suitable for all ages. (o/n Tsitsikamma, BB)

Day 5: Tsitsikamma – Addo Elephant National Park (Eastern Cape)
Depart Tistsikamm and Storms River and head towards Port Elizabeth, where you will visit the famous Addo Elephant National Park. Game driving in the Park allows for a good opportunity to take some wonderful photos of animals. Spend the night at a working fruit farm close to the Addo National Park.

Day 6: Port Elizabeth
After a morning game drive in Addo, depart the park and drive east along the sunshine coast towards Port Elizabeth to connect with your onward flight and the end of the tour.

If you start the tour in Port Elizabeth, the itinerary of the Garden Route Tour Self Drive reverses.
