South Africa Guided Safari & Garden Route Tour – 14 days
South Africa Guided Safari & Garden Route Tour Day 1: Kingdom of Swaziland
We will welcome you at the Johannesburg International Airport. Depending on your arrival we do a brief city tour or drive straight to Swaziland.
On the route to the Milwane Game Sanctuary you will have the opportunity to visit a small local glass manufacturer and see other local crafts. Milwane Game Sanctuary is home to many different antelopes, which graze freely between the huts. Overnight in Beehive Hut (BB).
Day 2 Milwane Game Sanctuary Swaziland
The traditional beehive architecture has been revived to give an authentic impression of the Swazi culture.
The dome-shaped grass huts are arranged in half circles, all surrounded by traditional Swazi reed wattle. Simple yet comfortable, they have all en-suite shower-toilet, two beds, a small table, bedside lamp and fan. Relax by the pool in a quiet environment and admire the continuous move of the wildlife, such as Impala, Warthogs and Nyala, grazing between the huts.
Activities: hiking in the Milwane Game Reserve, visit of a traditional Swazi village, or optional guided game drive with professional game ranger. Overnight in Beehive Hut (BB).
Day 3 & 4 Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Park
Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Park was the first and is the oldest game reserve of South Africa. You’ll stay at Malala Lodge. You go with our experienced guide on a game drive. You may also book a game drive with a guide of the lodge and go for a game drive in an open safari vehicle (not included).
Malala is a traditional South African bush lodge in a 140-acre private conservation area that can accommodate up to 18 guests, providing a peaceful African bush atmosphere. The kitchen has been exceptionally well-rated by our customers. (DBB)
Day 5 St. Lucia Wetlands Park (iSimangaliso Wetland Park)
iSimangaliso Wetland Park was included in the World Cultural Heritage list because of its unique location and species. With over 1,000 hippos and bird species, the park is truly unique. St Lucia is considered one of the safest cities in South Africa due to the sometimes hovering of the riverside pastures in the front porches. Overnight in Lalapanzi GH (BB) or similar.
Day 6 Durban und Addo
The journey to Durban takes about 2.5 hours. We explore the interesting beach promenade of Durban and then fly to Port Elizabeth.
Addo Elephant National Park (Eastern Cape)
From Port Elizabeth we drive straight to famous Addo Elephant National Park. Our late afternoon Game drive in the Park offers excellent opportunities for some great animal photo shoots. We spend the night at accommodation close to the National Park on working fruit farm (DBB)
Day 7 Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve
After an early morning game drive through Addo Park we head West to Tsitsikamma Forest, see the famous Big Tree. Enjoy optional activities such as bungee jumping and treetop tours. Overnight in Storms River Village, Tsitsikamma, dinner, bed & breakfast (DBB).
Day 8 Knysna
We leave Tsitsikamma and drive to the picturesque seaside village of Knysna.
On route to Knysna we can stop at Monkey Land, Birds of Paradise or a Snake Park.
There are numerous adventure activities available here as well as some interesting local crafts. Enjoy optional activities such as canoeing, abseiling, hiking or a lagoon cruise. We spend the night in Knysna enjoying the bohemian’s town’s lively atmosphere.

Day 9 Knysna
Today we will explore more of the Knysna region, visiting a nature reserve such as Featherbed or go to Brenton on Sea with its endless sandy beach. Knysna is also famous for the oysters that are being farmed in the lagoon.
Overnight on Leisure Island GH on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis (DBB).
Day 10: Oudtshoorn – Swellendam
Leaving Knysna early morning, you will drive inland to visit the world famous Cango Caves. After taking a tour of this amazing natural wonder, we may visit an ostrich farm where those brave enough can try to ride the largest bird in the world and we can visit the Wildlife Ranch, where you have the opportunity to get in contact with cheetahs.
Day 11 Cape Agulhas
Cape Agulhas, the most Southern tip of Africa, where the warm Indian Oceans and cold Atlantic Ocean meet. We will visit the famous Cape Agulhas Lighthouse, swim in warm waters in Struisbaai, and lunch in a fish restaurant at the beach.
With a little luck we will see Parrie, the huge Sting Ray and his friends, coming to the shore looking for food.
Elim, Hermanus and Cape Town
From Struisbaai we drive though the Cape Agulhas Nature Reserve through the old missionary village of Elim. The main road with many original houses and the church give a authentic impression of the early days of South Africa.
We drive though almost unspoiled nature towards Hermanus, well known for offering the finest land-based whale watching in season from July through November. From July to November we can go on an optional whale watching trip.
On route to Cape Town we can stop at the big African Penguin colony in Bettys Bay. The road then follows the beautiful scenic coastline along False Bay through numerous villages on to the freeway to Cape Town.
Overnight in Cape Town, Camps Bay or Noordhoek BB.
Day 12 Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula
We recommend to stay overnight in Noordhoek with its 8km long white sandy beach. Noordhoek is an excellent location for excursions to the major attractions of the Cape Peninsula. We visit the Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach, Kalk Bay and a beautiful wine estate in the area.
Day 13 Cape Town
We start the day early and drive over scenic Chapman’s Peak road to Hout Bay and further on to Camps Bay and Clifton Beach. Then we drive up to Table Mountain cable car station. To avoid the long queue, we have purchased already your ticket for the cable car.
We can also hike up Table Mountain. Please ask if you wish to hike up to the upper station and ride down.
Day 14 Cape Town Airport
Depending on your departure time you will do a city tour or drive straight to the airport. Unfortunately your South Africa Guided Safari & Garden Route Tour has ended.
