This 6-day tour of South Africa’s famous Garden Route will take you to Cape Aghulas, safari at the Garden Route Game Lodge, Cango Caves, Ostrich Farm and the Wild Range Park, as well as Featherbed and the Tsitsikamma Forest. You will get the chance to take the highest bungee jump in the world, go on forest walks, take a dolphin watching and whale watching tour, and enjoy a game drive in the Addo Elephant National Park.
The private tour can be taken in either direction, starting in Cape Town or Port Elizabeth. You will stay in comfortable 3 and 4-star hotels on a bed and breakfast basis. It provides a perfect opportunity to explore one of South Africa’s most beautiful regions, with plenty of opportunities to take adventure activities for active travelers.

Our Garden Route Safari & Tour departs in Cape Town for Hermanus and Cape Agulhas, the most Southern tip of Africa.
Day 1: Cape Town – Cape Agulhas
We follow the rugged scenic coastline through numerous villages to Hermanus, well known for offering the finest land-based whale watching in season from July through November. Our next stop is the southern most tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas, where the warm Indian and cold Atlantic oceans meet. You may visit the famous Cape Aghulas Lighthouse, swim in warm waters in Struisbaai, and enjoy lunch in a beach restaurant. After a relaxed lunch, we continue on to Arniston for our overnight stay.

Day 2: Garden Route Game Lodge
The drive along the scenic Garden Route to the private game reserve takes approx. 3 hours. We will arrive at the lodge at lunch time. After lunch you may visit the reptile center and pad the head of a giant turtle.
In the late afternoon you will enjoy the first game drive in an open safari vehicle with a knowledgeable ranger, who will tell you everything about the big and the small animals the reserve is home to.
You will certainly see rhinos, the lions, elephants, giraffes, many different antelopes, zebras and with a bit of luck also the cheetahs. A rhino cub was born in Nov 2015. The lion group is particularly beautiful.
After the game drive you will enjoy the dinner buffet at the lodge. Accommodation is optionally in Family Lodge Rooms or Valley View Bush Chalets. In the lodge rooms is free WiFi available. In the bar & lounge with open fire place is also free WiFi available.
The next morning you go on the early morning (7:00) game drive of your Garden Route Tour Big 5 Safari. After the 2 hour game drive and a delicious breakfast buffet we will leave at about 10:00 and drive to Oudtshoorn to visit the world famous Cango Caves.
After the tour through this amazing natural wonder, we may visit an ostrich farm where those brave enough can try to ride the largest bird in the world. Alternatively we visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch with their Cheetah encounter!
Day 3: Oudtshoorn – Knysna
Returning to the Garden Route via some lovely mountain pass, we will arrive in the picturesque seaside village of Knysna. There are numerous adventure activities available here as well as some interesting local crafts. Enjoy optional activities such as canoeing, abseiling, hiking or a lagoon cruise. We spend the night at Knysna enjoying the bohemian’s town’s lively atmosphere.
Day 4: Knysna
Today we will explore more of the Knysna region, visiting a nature reserve, such as Featherbed Nature Reserve. Tour the Tsitsikamma Forest and see the famous Big Tree, Monkey Land and Snake Park. Enjoy optional activities such as bungee jumping and treetop tours.(o/n Storms River Village, Tsitsikamma, BB)
Day 5: Tsitsikamma – Addo Elephant National Park (Eastern Cape)
Departing from Tsitsikamma we head to Port Elizabeth, where we will visit the famous Addo Elephant National Park. Game driving in the Park allows for a good opportunity to take some wonderful photos of animals. Spend the night at accommodation close to the National Park.
Day 6: Port Elizabeth
After an early morning game drive in Addo Elephant Park, we leave the park and drive along the sunshine coast towards Port Elizabeth to connect with your onward flight and the end of the tour.
If we start the Garden Route Guided Tour in Port Elizabeth, the itinerary reverses.
