Detailed Itinerary
Affordable Namibia Self Drive Safari 9 days
DAY 1: Windhoek
Upon arrival in Windhoek at Hosea Kutako (Windhoek International) airport, you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to your vehicle. Depending on your arrival time you will either drive to the capital of Namibia for check-in to your Windhoek guest house or you will go straight on your affordable Namibia self drive safari.
Overnight stay at Namib Naukluft Lodge (DBB) or Windhoek BB.

DAY 2: Namib and Sossusvlei
Visit the red dunes of Sossusvlei, (a clay pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world), which is surrounded by the possibly highest dunes in the world and is filled only with water in years when exceptionally good rainfall is received, Namib Naukluft Lodge (DBB).
DAY 3 & 4: Swakopmund
Drive to Swakopmund. The route takes you East to Swakopmund.
Overnight stay at Beach House, Desert Breeze or similar (BB).
Optional activity: Walfis Bay Cruise, Dunes sand boarding.
DAY 4 & 5: Damaraland
Departure from Swakopmund along the Atlantic Coast towards the North.
Overnight at the Damara Mopane Lodge or similar on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.
DAY 6 & 7: Etosha National Park
Leaving Mopane Lodge, we travel to Kamanjab and further on the tarred road to the Etosha National Park. Arrival at the Okaukuejo Restcamp in the Etosha National Park. At the heart of this National Park is the Etosha Pan, a vast dry shallow depression. Perennial springs feed the waterholes along the southern verge, which attract a myriad of animal species.

DAY 8: Otjiwarongo
After a last game drive in Etosha you continue on your affordable Namibia self drive safari to Otjiwarongo, the cheetah capital of the world.
Optional activity: Visit the Okonjima Africat Foundation rehabilitation center 18km off the main road to Windhoek (B1)

DAY 9: Windhoek
Return via Okahandja to Windhoek. Okahandja is an important centre for woodcarvers from the north. They practice their ancient skills at the Woodcarvers Market next to the main road. This is a good place to pick a last souvenir. Your affordable Namibia self drive safari comes to the end.
You will return your vehicle in Windhoek and be transferred to Hosea Kutako Airport for check-in on your outbound flight. Bid farewell to Namibia!
