What to do in Cape Town

The five “Must See” of Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula:

  1. Table Mountain

Whether you get to the top with the cable car or on foot, the view is worth the money and the effort.

Visitors should always check the weather forecast though. The cable car will not run with strong winds, which can start blowing within a few minutes, mostly in the afternoon. Nevertheless, we recommend to go up in the late afternoon and enjoy the breath taking views and the sunset!

2. V&A Waterfront

Those who argue the V&A Waterfront is just a huge shopping mall don’t understand the vibe …

3. Clifton Beaches, Camps Bay and the 12 Apostel

Camps Bay beaches

We call Camps Bay the Miami Beach of Cape Town and in this case a picture says it all.

4. Cape of Good Hope and the Cape Peninsula

Kalk Bay Harbour & Cape Point

A visit of Cape Point is clearly a “must”, as is Boulders Beach and the scenic Chapman’s Peak drive. The Cape Narure Reserve is home to Baboons, Mountain Zebra, Eland, Ostriches, Porcupines and many other animals. At Boulders Beach visitors may see the famous colony of African Penguins.

5. The Winelands

What to do in Cape Town Stellenbosch

South African wine has a huge community of worshippers worldwide and can certainly compete with some of the best French and Italian blends and cultivars. I still found no match for German Riesling though. We recommend to visit the region of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch wine lover or not. It offers incredible vistas. One of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen.
